Kudos to the people of New Jersey for electing this man governor. He gets it and more importantly he's a great salesman for the conservative cause.
When I ask my liberal friends just how big they think the government needs to be: 40%of GDP,50%, 80%? They can't answer, except to say that it needs to make life in America more fair.
When I ask how high taxes have to go to pay for it all? They usually reply their taxes shouldn't be raised a dime.
It's like that song on the oldies stations that goes "tax the rich, feed the poor, til there are no rich no more". I always wondered if the guys in that band refused their royalties from album sales or performed their concerts for free.
We simply can't afford the scale of government President Obama and Governor Patrick envision without losing what it means to be America. Sure, America will still exist, but the spirit that makes our country special will be gone. We'll all be like the animals you see in the zoo, lazy and depressed, but well fed. How many of those animals if given the chance would forgo the free room and board, health care, dental care for a chance at freedom and really living as opposed to merely existing? All you have to do is look in their eyes to get the answer.
I hope Charlie Baker is paying careful attention to what Governor Christie is trying to accomplish. The day of reckoning is at hand and the date is 11/2/2010.
